This is a watercolour piece based on a photo of British racing driver Basil Davenport (1903 - 1979) in his GN cyclecar 'Spider' at motor racing trials on the sands at Skegness, Lincolnshire, circa 1925. Davenport built 'Spider' himself using parts from Archie Frazer-Nash's GN company.
